Mayor Spano Appoints New Deputy Corporation Counsel

Yonkers Mayor Mike Spano has appointed Helen Aggrey as the City of Yonkers’ second Deputy Corporation Counsel. Aggrey will be the first-ever female African-American serving as the Deputy Corporation Counsel. As second deputy corporation counsel, she will be positioned at the Yonkers Board of Education and tasked with the responsibility of providing counsel to the Board on a variety of matters relating to policy, procedure, contracts, and the daily operation of the school district. In addition, Aggrey will manage the Board’s legal team consisting of attorneys and other legal aides, and will be responsible for the legal day-to-day operations, as well as managing various negotiations and cases.


José Herrera

Mercy College Names New Provost and VP of Academic Affairs

Mercy College has appointed José Herrera (shown left) as provost and vice president of academic affairs. Herrera officially joined Mercy College on January 17th after previously serving as the associate vice president for academic affairs and dean of the College of Arts and Sciences at Western New Mexico University. Herrera, a first-generation college student, earned his bachelor’s and master’s degrees in biology from Northern Illinois University and his doctorate in microbiology from Kansas State University.


ITT Inc. Names New Chief Operating Officer

White Plains-based ITT Inc. has named Luca Savi as new chief operating officer. As COO, Savi will focus on driving business performance by expanding and strengthening ITT’s comprehensive management system and processes, while also continuing to expand operational capabilities across the company. Savi has more than 22 years of experience in operational, engineering and management and previously served as president of ITT’s Motion Technologies business. He joined ITT in 2011 from Comau, a subsidiary of the Fiat Group.


David Ingber

New Appointments at WMCHealth

Westchester Medical Center Health Network (WMCHealth) has announced the addition of David Ingber as its Senior Vice President, Network Financial Operations. In this position, Ingber will play a pivotal role in the planning, development, and integration of financial operations across the WMCHealth network. Prior to joining WMCHealth, Ingber enjoyed a 26-year career at Montefiore Health System where he ascended to the role of Vice President, Finance, Accounting and Financial Reporting. WMCHealth also welcomes Joshua Ratner as Senior Vice President of Network Strategy. Ratner will collaborate with senior administration and network affiliates to develop and execute strategies that enhance offered services in order to deliver improved clinical outcomes and an exceptional patient experience. Prior to this role, Ratner served as Chief Strategy Officer at HealthAlliance of the Hudson Valley.


William Yahr

New General Manager For The Ritz-Carlton New York, Westchester

The Ritz-Carlton New York, Westchester has announced William Yahr as the new hotel General Manager. In his role, William will be responsible for all operations of the 146-room luxury hotel and the two Ritz-Carlton residential towers. Yahr joins the hotel from The Ritz-Carlton Coconut Grove, Miami where he served as the Hotel Manager. He has been with The Ritz-Carlton Hotel Company for over 10 years, having worked at The Ritz-Carlton New York, Battery Park; The Ritz-Carlton, Tysons Corner; and The Ritz-Carlton Key Biscayne, Miami.


Northwell Health Appoints First Westchester Regional Director of Thoracic Surgery

Northwell Health recently announced the appointment of Darren I. Rohan, MD, FACS, as the first Westchester regional director of the health system’s thoracic surgery program. Under his direction, advanced thoracic surgery services will be offered at both Northern Westchester Hospital in Mount Kisco and Phelps Memorial Hospital Center in Sleepy Hollow, reinforcing Northwell’s commitment to enhancing surgical care in Westchester. The new, regional thoracic surgery program offers “the very latest in diagnostics, robot-assisted surgery and non-surgical medical care for chest and stomach problems, acid reflux, hiatal hernia, lung cancer, lung disease, and other chest cancers,” says Dr. Rohan. Dr. Rohan is a member of Northwell Health’s growing medical group practice, called Northwell Health Physician Partners, and is treating patients at Northern Westchester and Phelps.


Food Bank for Westchester Names Leslie B. Gordon as President and CEO

Food Bank for Westchester, the leading organization providing programs for the 200,000 county residents who are food insecure, recently announced the appointment of Leslie B. Gordon as its new President and CEO. Gordon, who has extensive experience at City Harvest developing initiatives to serve the hungry in New York City, succeeds Ellen Lynch who announced in September that she was stepping down as President and CEO. Prior to joining City Harvest in 2007, Gordon was under Anthony Kennedy Shriver the State Director of Best Buddies Pennsylvania, an organization that creates opportunities for one-to-one friendships, integrated employment and leadership development for people with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD). Gordon is a lifetime Westchesterite and fourth-generation resident of Tarrytown.

Fee Sotheby’s International Realty today announced that seasoned real estate agents Holly Mellstrom, Kristin Bischof, Alison Schair-Trigona and Elizabeth Ritchie have joined the firm and will be based in the Bronxville brokerage. All four agents most recently served as sales associates with the Pelham-based affiliate in the global Sotheby’s International Realty® network, McClellan Sotheby’s International Realty. Mellstrom was ranked as the highest-producing real estate agent in the Pelham marketplace for five of the past six years including 2016, as well as one of the top producers in all of Westchester County. Dr. O’Brien brings to her new role the same compassion and leadership she has exhibited at Willow Towers Assisted Living, where she will continue to serve as executive director. Both residences are located on United Hebrew of New Rochelle’s Campus of Comprehensive Care, where Dr. O’Brien has served for over a decade. Dr. O’Brien, who holds a DPT in physical therapy, served as Director of Burke Rehabilitation at United Hebrew for nine years, and as a physical therapist at Burke Rehabilitation Hospital for 21 years
