Inventive shared-office spaces continue to pop up across the county, as local professionals enjoy the benefits of coworking.
Three new facilities have added to the popularity of coworking spaces in Westchester. With tailored wellness programs, cutting-edge technology, and luxe digs, they take coworking to the next level while offering Westchester’s next generation of entrepreneurs a stable starting point.
HudCo, Dobbs Ferry
One of the new kids on the block is The Hudson Collective, known as HudCo, a Dobbs Ferry coworking space that opened in May and was founded by locals Christy Knell, Ira Frazin, and Christina Cohen. A “shared coworking-and-wellness space,” HudCo currently sports 11 desks, an event/lounge space, and a full Pilates and physical-therapy studio, as well as free WiFi and printing. “The setup is for entrepreneurs looking for flexible office space, creative inspiration, accessible wellness therapy, and the energy that working with others provides, all without the commute,” says Knell. www.hudco.co
The Aligned Center, Irvington
For entrepreneurs with a more holistic bent, The Aligned Center, located in swanky quarters above Irvington’s Red Hat on the River, offers a coworking space with a focus on wellness and peace. Founded by former Morgan Stanley wealth-management guru Matt Ludmer, the center (which is part of Ludmer’s firm, Aligned Wealth LLC) offers a cutting-edge coworking environment adjacent to the Hudson River, as well as programs and events that include meditation, tai chi, lectures, and and classes aimed in all areas of personal growth. www.thealignedcenter.com
ThePowerLab, Yonkers
ThePowerLab, which opened in April, is aimed at younger, lower-income and economically disadvantaged entrepreneurs. Located at 45 Ludlow Street in a developing region of Yonkers, ThePowerLab was founded by local nonprofit Community Governance and Development Council (CGDC). “The purpose of ThePowerLab is to provide affordable workspace, a powerful network of innovators, and technical resources to startup businesses and community projects that tackle pressing issues in the community,” says CGDC’s Ray Wilcox. “The goal of Lab is to give the community the tools and resources needed to solve its own problems and to create a vehicle for economic growth that starts from within.” cgdcny.nationbuilder.com/powerlab
