Revolutionizing the shipping landscape, Carrier Logistics creates cutting-edge software that makes business and impulse internet purchases a breeze.

The past two years have wreaked havoc on the supply chain. As a business that has long been used to exponential growth and consistency, Elmsford-based Carrier Logistics, Inc. (CLI), has ebbed and flowed with the shipping industry as it has changed, evolved, and even stuttered. Celebrating a half-century of service, CLI was recently honored by county government for its dedication to supply-chain innovation. But the company’s work is far from over.

“We are honored to be recognized by Westchester County, home of our headquarters since the early 1970s,” says CLI president Ben Wiesen. “The combination of convenience, natural beauty, and a strong business environment make Westchester the perfect home for Carrier Logistics — today and for our next 50 years.”

Founded in 1972, CLI was established to fill the technology void in the shipping space. At the time, in order to place an order for transportation, a shipper, like a manufacturer, would pick up the phone and call a carrier, fill out paperwork by hand, then play the waiting game. Due to a lack of visibility into the status or lifecycle of the shipment, there was no choice but to wait until the goods arrived and hope everything went well. Through innovative technology and pioneering software, CLI transformed the supply-chain and shipping landscape through its freight transportation management solutions.

“The combination of convenience, natural beauty, and a strong business environment make Westchester the perfect home for Carrier Logistics — today and for our next 50 years.”

When the pandemic hit, the general public was given a glimpse into the intricacies of the supply chain. The implementation of lockdowns gave many a new appreciation for how practically everything they eat or enjoy is transported, in some way, by truck. Without CLI’s behind-the-scenes software serving as the supply chain’s architecture, service disruptions would have been much worse, triggering a destructive economic downfall.

Despite CLI’s unassuming home base on Taxter Road, the company’s impact is decidedly intercontinental. “Our clients are located across North America and internationally,” explains Wiesen. “The combination of the local highway system just beyond the gridlock of the city, access to five airports, and great venues for hosting events makes this our ideal base to have a regional and even global reach.”
