There are food-based festivals in the Hudson Valley around everything from garlic to wings (sorry, shameless plug) to beer, so why not a fete to celebrate traditional Jewish cuisine? From matzoh ball soup, pastrami, kugel (a potato casserole), and crispy potato latkes, to desserts such as rugelach, babka, and jelly-filled hamantaschen, it’s a cuisine that developed over many centuries and was shaped by Jewish dietary law.
Both area restaurants and caterers will be at NOSH!, Temple Israel of Northern Westchester’s family-friendly annual event on Sunday November 5 from 11:30 a.m. to 2 p.m (adults: $20; children: $5).
