Tradition and quality, the two values placed above all else at Mount Kisco’s La Tulipe Desserts. This town staple has charmed customers with their creative, colorful, and delicious desserts for nearly two decades. With the warm weather slowly creeping its way back, Chef/Owner Maarten Steenman and his team are hard at work, performing their culinary wizardry, as they bake up a variety of special treats for the Easter holiday, as well as some new items for the spring season.
La Tulipe is offering a variety of animal-themed chocolate figures in multiple shapes and sizes (and in milk or dark). There’s the chocolate marzipan rabbit; a large chocolate head, decorated with marzipan (ground almonds and sugar mixed until smooth) facial features; adorable bunnies with backpacks full of chocolate eggs, as well as frogs and chickens. They are also offering a variety of playful marzipan figures that are both decorative and delicious.

In addition to their Easter offerings, La Tulipe is selling a raspberry mille-feuille (better known as a Napoleon). It’s a deliciously rich dessert consisting of two sheets of caramelized puff pastry, sponge cake soaked in Chambord raspberry liqueur, sandwiching a raspberry mousseline, all topped off with a thin coating of raspberry jam and a generous sash of fruit and chocolate. It’s a true showstopper, and an amazing treat for berry lovers.

Also on the seasonal menu is the Campagnia Cake, a decedent layered cake consisting of ginger/blood orange mousse and raspberry mouse surrounded by a ring of sponge cake, cake coated in caramelized crème anglaise (vanilla sauce). The cake is adorned with a crown of Italian meringue, and an assortment of fruit and chocolate. It’s a piece that truly displays the remarkable talents of Chef Steenman.
