You won’t find the acceptable, the mediocre, or even the decent in our 24th annual edition of celebrating the best of the 914. Instead, only the foremost places to shop, dine, drink, play, and luxuriate.
Our editors and select freelance writers have been eating, drinking, shopping, and schlepping their way around the county for more than two decades to identify the elite. There are 104 Editors’ Picks this year, including restaurants in North Salem, Pleasantville, and Harrison that answer the question: “Where should we make reservations next?” plus a White Plains salon specializing in distinctive color cuts, a chill New Age-y wellness fair in Tarrytown, a comedy night in Larchmont, and a boutique featuring South African home goods, furniture, and accessories (a percentage handmade).
Readers had the opportunity to vote, too, producing 285 winning selections. More than 81,900 ballots were submitted to the online Readers’ Ballot from early December to mid-January. The top vote-getters advanced to an elimination round that ran from mid-February to early March (when about 492,600 votes were tallied), resulting in the winners.
