What an impressive county we live in, considering this is our 18th annual Best of Westchester issue, and yet the winners’ list is full of so many laudable — and new — selections. There are 120 editors’ picks this year, including a new pizzeria that rivals some of Brooklyn’s finest joints, a charming micro-winery on the grounds of a nursery, and a custom-furniture store with expertise on all things reclaimed wood and timber.
Readers had the opportunity to vote, too, and delivered 231 winning selections. More than 34,000 ballots were submitted to the online Readers’ Ballot from early December to the end of January — almost doubling last year’s results and making the 2018 competition the most popular in the event’s history by a wide margin. The results determined the winners in all major categories except Food & Drink and Health & Beauty (these were done via six elimination rounds in February through early March, when approximately 42,000 votes were tallied — again, an all-time record for the event).
