A good business bar can be measured by the quality of its drinks, its service (shout out to Link, our favorite bartender), and by a less-easy-to-pinpoint criterion loosely defined as ambience. Emma’s excels in all three, with a drink list designed for sampling (hard choice between the extensive microbrews and the original, creative cocktails); a welcoming tavern atmosphere (love the large bar and high-top tables meant for lingering); and a laid-back mood that makes everyone from high-powered execs to blue-collar workers feel right at home. Of course, we could chalk it up to those adorable black-and-white photos of Emma, owner Casey Egan’s yellow Lab, and of her little sister, Morgan, that grace the décor. It’s part of the allure that keeps the place so comfortable—the ideal neighborhood bar.
Happy Hour: Not regularly, but it does run specials; you need to be on its mailing list to know when.
