More than a beauty spa, The Opus Spa is a wellness wonderland in Downtown White Plains that Westchesterites will adore.
Occupying a lofty perch on the ninth floor of The Opus, Westchester, and stretched across 10,000 square feet of finely appointed relaxation and treatment space, The Opus Spa is not only a top choice for a facial and a massage; it’s also an unparalleled destination for a day (yes, a day) of rejuvenation for the mind, body, and soul.
The indulgent, resort-style escape begins in one of two relaxation suites where guests slip into spa robes and slippers, then settle into plush chaise lounges for a moment of leisurely, semiprivate stillness before (and between) treatments.
With 11 treatment rooms, services are bounteous and include a varying menu of cleansing and luxurious facials, gentle and invigorating massages, purifying and soothing body scrubs and wraps, waxing, and nail and haircare, along with a wealth of wellness modalities, like reiki palm healing, cupping therapy, nutrition counseling, and a halotherapy salt chamber. Steam and sauna spaces round out the revitalizing, retreat-like experience.
However, it’s the multi-hour signature journeys — beginning or ending in a private, orb-shaped, aromatic soaking tub — that set The Opus Spa apart. As part of the premier, three-hour Magnum Opus package, the body is exfoliated with an aromatic blend of sugar and essential oils, then purified in the eucalyptus steam room. A soak in the private tub allows the conditioning essences to be further absorbed before warm shea butter is deeply massaged into the skin, eliciting a supple, hydrated feel and glow.
An elevator ride down to the bustling streets of White Plains can be jarring even after just an hour at The Opus Spa, so many guests prolong their renewed sense of selves by visiting the hotel’s indoor rooftop heated pool, where the city is calmly observed from a distance, and light bites can be enjoyed on the lounge deck. Others choose to release their energy reserves in the state-of-the-art fitness studio. Either way, any time spent at The Opus Spa is akin to a soul-altering work of art.
