Fall is the perfect time of year to snuggle up with a good book (and perhaps some hot cocoa). Luckily, Westchester has a handful of unique independent bookstores stocked with every genre you can imagine. Browse these cozy shops for a must-read classic or grab the latest best-seller and be careful not to get lost in the pages.
The Village Bookstore

Transom Bookshop

Tarrytown’s Main Street is stocked with local goods, delicious eats, and gems like Transom Bookshop. The owner, Chris Steib, shares on his website that the bookshop was planned, designed, and renovated over the span of five months in mid-2021. It’s apparent that Stein poured his love for reading, learning, and words into his store to share with his customers.
