With so many treatments and skin care products, maintaining a beauty regime can be overwhelming. All many ever really want is glowing skin — with a minimal time commitment.
POSH Beauty Boutique, which opened earlier this year, offers your standard facials, body scrubs, and massages, and now the spa menu also includes a celebrity favorite, the HydraFacial, which gave us radiant skin in just one hour. Really.
The HydraFacial, from the company Edge Systems, is a medical-grade hydradermabrasion treatment that uses patented technology to simultaneously cleanse and peel, extract and hydrate, and fuse and protect all skin types. It is a multi-step treatment that exfoliates to uncover a new layer of skin, removes dirt and debris from pores with a suction technique, and nourishes the skin with antioxidants and peptides. The treatment is meant to deliver long-term skin health with no downtime or irritation — in a short amount of time.
Rainsford knew that POSH had to offer the HydraFacial after several clients requested the treatment. After the CBS show The Doctors featured the treatment as an age-reversing treatment that could be an alternative to plastic surgery, she says there was an increased awareness and interest in the facial. Andrew Ordon, MD, explained it is great for those with rosacea, brown spots, and skin prone to acne. Rainsford considers it a “breakthrough concept” and a step above an ordinary facial: “It becomes addictive because you can see immediate results…It offers everything the skin needs in so many different ways, but mainly the ultimate hydration for days.” In her 15 years in the industry, Rainsford says she has never come across a treatment as wonderful as the HydraFacial. “The results are what everybody is looking for, bright clean and hydrated skin,” she says. While it is recommended that a series of six monthly visits will give the best results, there is no limit to how many treatments you can get, and Rainsford says (and we can attest!) you can even see results after a single treatment.
Light energy is applied to the skin for therapeutic benefits: a red LED light, which is said to have anti-aging properties, and a blue LED light, which targets acne bacteria said to cause most acne conditions. POSH offers additional boosters, like the Connective Tissue Growth Factor booster (said to minimize the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles through naturally derived growth factors and improve skin health), the Britenol, an intensive spot corrector (designed to brighten and balance skin tone while minimizing the appearance of dark spots and sun spots), and the Dermabuilder, an age-refining peptide complex (meant to help smooth the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles and enhance skin elasticity).
While some spas offer a HydraFacial treatment, Rainsford warns only certain spas and locations are certified providers of the authentic machine. Some spas can offer their own version of a HydraFacial, but if the machine doesn’t have Edge Systems’ specific branding (the “i” in HydraFacial is flipped upside down), it might not produce the same results.
POSH’s HydraFacial treatment offering is unique because they offer a 60-minute service paired with Eminence Organic Skincare (an industry favorite) products. In addition to the facial, clients will recive a décolleté, arm, and hand massage.
Rainsford says, “As a business owner and an aesthetician seeing clients’ skin before and after, this treatment makes me realize all the good that we do a POSH physically and mentally for clients. They really leave here feeling and looking beautiful.”
