Aw Come On! Let Golf Go to the Dogs!

Four-legged friends can be great companions on the course and off.

While the nabobs of the USGA, PGA of America, and R&A are figuring out how to grow the game by making golf a better experience, Elie Golf Club in Scotland has been showing the way for years, according to Westchester golfer and major dog lover Andy Silfen.

A few simple rules to make golf more fun.

Earlsferry Links, as it is also known, is about ten miles from St. Andrews and claims that golf has been played on the site since 1589.  There were probably dogs on the course then, too, not to mention a few sheep.

“It is a wonderful course with drive-able par 4’s and wind off the sea,” Silfen says. “The views are so special. Could be the favorite course I have ever played.”
