In the market for an 8-bedroom estate in Northern Westchester? It certainly is no surprise that it won’t be cheap.
But $35.9 million, the asking price for a Mount Kisco mansion, might still grab some second glances. As reported by The Wall Street Journal, the estate is the priciest home in Westchester. The listing for the home, from the real estate firm Nest Seekers International, calls it “A Grand Estate: The Epitome Of Luxury and Privacy.”
The estate is set on 98 acres and contains a home built in the early 1900s, which would be restored and expanded. The Clintons, Ralph Lauren, Martha Stewart, and David Letterman are all neighbors to the property, according to the listing. The buyer has the option to customize the layout and add design options that could expand the house to 40,000 square feet.
Some highlights from the listing: 12 bathrooms; an Infinity Pool; elevator; a “cutting edge” safe room; and an “immense, open and flowing terrace overlooking the courtyard.”

The Wall Street Journal first reported on the estate’s development in April, when it was listed for $29.5 million. Changes in the design and materials of the home drove the increase, David Fenton, CEO of project developer’s Twins Oaks Construction told The Wall Street Journal.
If sold at asking price, the home would set a new Westchester record. Last year, actor/producer Ron Howard sold his six-bedroom Victorian home in Armonk for $27.5 million. The sale set the current Westchester record. It won’t come close to a national record, however. The most expensive home sale in the US history happened in May 2014, when an 18-acre estate in the Hamptons went for a cool $147 million.
