While this is the formal living room of a large house in Bedford Hills, it is anything but stuffy. “The husband likes to play pool, so we decided that we would dedicate the room to this passion,” says Scarsdale interior designer Claire Paquin.
“The room had beautiful oak paneling so I guided the clients towards a more modern aesthetic in order to contrast with the Old World feel of the paneled room. We selected contemporary furnishings and kept the color palette to blacks, grays, and creams in order to play up a more masculine feel.”
