More than 300 people attended the opening night gala of the three-day French film festival, Focus on French Cinema, held at Purchase College. After a showing of Angele et Tony, attendees enjoyed a buffet reception with Champagne by Perrier-Jouet and tastings prepared by L’Academie Culinaire de France; L’atelier du Chocolat New York; Provençe en Boite Brooklyn; Union League Café of New Haven, Connecticut; Jean-Louis’s JLToGo of Greenwich, Connecticut;, and Café d’Orsay ofManhattan. The festival, organized by The Alliance Francaise of Greenwich in partnership with Purchase College’s School of Film and Media Studies, showed 11 additional French films and numerous short films over the course of the weekend, often with film principals speaking before or after the screenings.
A silent auction benefited programs at Alliance Française of Greenwich.
