AJC Westchester Celebrates Leaders

The American Jewish Committee Westchester held it’s annual gala, Leading by Example, at The Ritz-Carlton, Westchester, in White Plains. Approximately 300 people attended the event including diplomats from Israel, Canada, Spain, Greece, Serbia, Croatia, Cyprus, and Lithuania. Also attending were Westchester government officials White Plains Mayor Tom Roach, County Executive Rob Astorino, Deputy County Executive Kevin Plunkett, Chairman of the County Board of Legislators Ken Jenkins, Hon. Martin Rogowsky, County Clerk Tim Idoni, and Assemblywoman Shelley Mayer of Yonkers.
AJC leaders Candy and Leon Gould were honored with the AJC Distinguished Leadership Award and Stanley S. Litow and Meir Nissensohn of IBM were given the AJC Corporate Leadership Award for Global Citizenship and Social Responsibility.
Counting some 2,000-member families and supporters, the AJC Westchester office conducts programs that attempt to build connections, advance security, promote human rights, support Israel, and strengthen Jewish life.
