Houston ’cue king Russell Roegels acted as “barbecue Yoda” for Jacob Styburski’s new Rivertown shrine to Texas-style smoked meats. The menu features the Texas trinity – brisket, ribs, and sausage – plus classic sides and pudding cups (according to Styburski, “there have to be pudding cups”). Expect great interiors too: Styburski and his wife are designers by trade.
Cafe La Fondita

The owners of Lago in Harrison are also hard at work on this colorful Latin takeout café with an emphasis on fresh, locally grown (including from the owners’ own garden) and organic produce. The bright façade features an original mural based on owner Valerio Morano Sagliocco’s travel drawings.
Hudson Farmer & the Fish
When: Spring
Where: Sleepy Hollow waterfront
Just in time for warmer weather, the guys behind North Salem’s Purdy’s Farmer & the Fish are bringing us this supremely summery spot along the Hudson. An FDNY fireboat acquired at auction will dock next to the restaurant, and the open kitchen with steam kettles and a pizza oven will serve hungry patrons on the outdoor deck.

Colony Grill

Where: Port Chester waterfront
Famous for its pizza-pilgrimage-worthy bar-style pie with hot oil, this will be the first Westchester location of the Stamford institution, which opened its doors more than 80 years ago. Port Chester just approved plans for construction to along the Byram River down the block from bartaco.

Eagle Saloon

Where: Downtown Peekskill
One of two new ventures from restaurateur Louie Lanza in 2017, this Americana-style restaurant/bar is slated to open next door to The Hudson Room. The menu features food and drinks from different US regions (think Creole, low-country) and a stage will host live music.

Lanza is partnering with Captain Lawrence Brewing Co.’s Scott Vaccaro to open this seafood restaurant and catering hall with a massive deck on the Peekskill waterfront — boat slips included! The sprawling complex will include family-friendly activities like a bowling alley and arcade.
