Violeta Mrizaj, owner of Mode de Vie salon in Eastchester, shares advice on how to rock short hair.
For those with fine, thin hair, an angled bob — short in the back and long in the front — works best. Wearers should part this style to one side, recommends Mrizaj, who says it’s also a good look for round faces, as the angle will give a slimming effect and minimize facial width if cut at cheek level. Thick- or curly-haired girls should try a lob, which is a little on the longer side, usually touching the shoulders. “I love this style because it looks great and you can let your hair air dry, applying a little product to keep the body,” she says. Also, the lob is easy to maintain and can still be pulled back in a ponytail on a humid day. Anyone can rock a short-even bob, where the length of the hair is the same all around. “It can be parted in either direction while looking great,” according to Mrizaj. And the really daring should go for a pixie cut, she says: “It’s trending big time for 2018 and looks great with any type of hair or face shape, as long as you’ve got the confidence to pull it off.”
