Several Westchester companies earned high honors in a survey to find the 50 best companies to work for in New York. The survey, promoted by the New York State Society for Human Resource Management, considers employee satisfaction, workplace practices and policies.
Acorda Therapeutics, an Ardsley-based biotech company, ranked high among employers with more than 250 employees. It was the third consecutive year that Acorda was named one of the 50 best New York companies to work for.
Mount Kisco’s Curtis Instruments, a global provider of instrumentation, controls and integrated systems for a variety of applications, also ranked among the best large employers.
In the category for businesses with 15 to 249 U.S. employees, Quorum Federal Credit Union in Purchase was part of the list.
“Each company is not judged by an outsider, but by their own employee base,” says program chair Lorri Zelman. “The very people who make it happen day in and day out are critiquing their workplace.”
Winners in the sixth annual awards competition were honored at an event in April 2013.
