One of three hamlets in the town of Bedford, Katonah maintains a quirky and artistic vibe, with several shops and restaurants to explore along Katonah Ave. On a larger scale, Katonah is home to the Caramoor center—one of the county’s major art and music venues—as well as the Katonah Museum of Art. Other attractions include the John Jay Homestead, the home of one of America’s founding fathers and now a state historic site. Residents can visit John Jay for the seasonal farmers’ market, or head to Muscoot Farm for fresh produce (and to meet some farm animals!). Westchester’s Four Winds Hospital is also located in Katonah, along the border with Cross River. And this small town even has its own Metro-North station, with one-hour train commutes to Grand Central.
