Whole Home Architecture

Keller/Eaton Architects

Location: Rye

This waterfront home, which was redesigned for two empty nesters, is situated on 2 acres right on Long Island Sound. Because of the spectacular view outside, the architects at Keller/Eaton wanted to provide water views in all of the living spaces. They created “courtyards” to maximize the light and vistas. The floating staircase connects the home’s three levels and is flanked by a wall of windows, which floods the center of the home with daylight. The spacious living room/dining area opens to the rear garden and a stunning view of the Sound. A first-floor master bedroom and three additional bedrooms upstairs, all with water views, complete the home. Contractors: Murphy Brothers Contracting.

Location: Union Vale

The surrounding landscape served as the inspiration for this home’s architecture. The house was built to maximize views, natural light, and use. The front elevation has many traditional cottage elements, combining steep rooflines with graceful curves, while the rear of the house is almost entirely glass, allowing for a full view of the pond on the property. The metal roof reflects the sky and softens the presence of the house. The finished look is unique yet timeless.

Robert Georgio: Georgio Home

Location: Rye

This new-construction house was inspired by the Hamptons and built for a young family who wanted to live in this water community. Like many of the Georgio Home designs, this house is traditional on the exterior, with modern touches in the interior. Robert Georgio’s favorite elements are the rooflines coupled with the window details and the Mont Blanc kitchen countertop, which is a granite that looks like marble. Interior design is by Patricia Georgio Designs.
