Traditional Bath

This grand bathroom is both traditional and modern. The custom vanity features graceful legs and ample storage. The floor is a custom chevron pattern featuring iceberg and Thassos marble, and custom-designed tile graces the walls throughout. The modern light fixture and antiqued mirrors balance each other. A tray ceiling formalizes the center of the room, while the stand-alone tub sits in a light-filled dormer.

This project included a complete gut-renovation with an extension. This new master bathroom is in the addition. This is the owner’s dream home, so the design was replete in the details. Using all things Italian as inspiration, architect Christina Griffin incorporated beautiful tile work, a custom vanity, and the view of the Hudson River.

The layout was rearranged in this preexisting bathroom. A vestibule between the master closet and master bath was added to the bathroom space to make room for a double vanity, a larger shower, and a built-in makeup area. A 10-foot vaulted ceiling makes the small space feel much larger. The light color palette lends a bright and airy feel. Carrera marble was used throughout, and a custom vanity and new fixtures were added.
