The $75 Cocktail
“Using quality spirits in cocktails has traditionally been considered taboo,” says celebrity mixologist Brian Van Flandern (he has three Michelin stars!), who created The National’s Blue Blood & Sand cocktail, featuring Johnnie Walker Blue Label, vermouth, sugar, and fresh blood-orange juice. Lest you think it’s just a publicity stunt, Van Flandern insists the tangy-sweet cocktail accentuates the Scotch’s base flavors.

The $200 Shot of Whiskey
With the recent bourbon boom, the most exclusive name in brown stuff is Pappy Van Winkle. At Pour in Mount Kisco, owner Anthony Colasacco has six ages behind the bar, including the 23 Year Reserve, which he’ll offer in two-ounce pours for $200. Pour also has a $200 A.H. Hirsch Reserve, a lesser-known, super-coveted bourbon that’s no longer in production. But, if Pappy’s your dream drink, spend $300 to taste all the vintages at one of Pour’s special Pappy tastings (the next one is planned for Fourth of July weekend).

The $22,000 Bottle of Wine
In the vast collection at Crabtree’s Kittle House, there’s no single bottle more special than the $22,000 1900 Chateaux Margaux, which, despite its 116 years, still earned a perfect 100 points from wine critic Robert Parker. The restaurant’s wine cellar is also home to three bottles of Romanée Conti 1990, also $22K each, a small production wine (no more than 450 cases are produced in one year) that’s also among the world’s finest.
