Westport, Landscaping by Hoffman Landscapes
This home, barn, and pool already existed when Hoffman Landscapes came onboard. The firm was tasked with creating entertainment spaces around the pool and updating the landscaping so that it all functioned together in a beautiful way.
The landscapers created a 16’x20’ pergola, as well as an outdoor shower, privacy fence, and surfacing around the pool. They installed new plants and relocated existing plantings. Before, this home had a pool, but now it has a pool, dining area, and space for lounging and playing — plus an outdoor shower.
The shower is hidden, so you barely know it’s there. It has a lattice ceiling, sliding barn door, and rain shower head. The flooring comprises bluestone and Mexican river rock.
A vendor who specializes in reclaimed barn materials copied details from the original structure for the outdoor spaces, so the whole project blends seamlessly into the main house and barn.
Best Tip: When a designer is given freedom to explore new ideas, you usually get the best outcome.
Biggest Mistake: Don’t install a pool without thinking about the entertainment areas surrounding it.
