This Armonk lakeside property is very different today from the one listing agent Dodie Mouldovan sold a decade ago. “The owners 10 years ago recognized the potential and now that potential has been realized,” Mouldovan recalls. “They converted the house into a Colonial that offers a complete environment set on more than four acres with a two-floor, two-bath pool house, tennis court, and a twenty-four foot by forty-seven foot salt-water pool, with plenty of room to play, spaces for each person to have plenty of privacy.” The ambitious renovation of the 1983 structure resulted in a new exterior (including new roof); a bright interior with new architectural windows and high ceilings; a family room with two-story stone fireplace; a master bedroom suite with a private balcony overlooking the lake; an extra-large sleek chef’s kitchen with a breakfast room and top of the line amenities, including glass tile, Traulsen double-door commercial refrigerator, six-burner Viking range, and two dishwashers; Wi-Fi and CAT 5 wiring; a three-car attached garage; and an automatic generator. The expansive grounds are surprisingly low maintenance, thanks to the natural (though somewhat unique) setting. The property’s ideal location keeps it private, but convenient to town, White Plains, Greenwich, and New York City. Thinking Green: Heineken USA White Plains Headquarters Wins Gold

Heineken USA’s White Plains headquarters at 360 Hamilton Ave has earned an impressive Gold certification under the LEED for Commercial Interiors rating system. An ambitious two-phased renovation (conducted without vacating the building), led by architects MKDA and sustainability consultants CodeGreen, created sustainable space by incorporating glass walls and flexible workstations to enhance the natural light, space efficient systems and lighting, low-VOC emitting paints and flooring, Energy Star equipment and appliances, and materials with pre- and post-consumer recycled content. Sourcing materials regionally and diverting existing materials from area landfills also contributed to the energy-efficient design. This recognition follows an earlier LEED Gold certification for Existing Buildings for the site’s successful 25 percent reduction of energy and 20 percent reduction in water consumption and a 2010 Energy Star label from the Environmental Protection Agency. The company is quickly proving that “green” goes way beyond the signature green Heineken bottles that line its lobby walls.
