If estate-like properties in a country setting is your idea of paradise, then this small town tucked away in the northeast corner of Westchester might be a slice of heaven. Recent changes in this small town have started to attract younger families from across the region.
“It’s a very country feel here,” says Nikki McMann, licensed broker with William Raveis in Katonah and a resident of Pound Ridge. “We have a lot of people riding their bikes through beautiful country roads.”
McMann notes that despite being among the smallest territories in Westchester by population, Pound Ridge has one of the most active recreation departments — with special events for residents throughout the year, like car shows, movie nights, and harvest festivals with live music.
A recently renovated town center at Scotts Corners (a hamlet and the commercial hub of the town) has led to new shopping and dining options. The Inn at Pound Ridge by Jean-Georges, one of the county’s top-ranked restaurants, is just minutes from Scotts Corners. Large lot sizes and open space are the norm across town, with many properties boasting at least two acres. Despite the commodious estates, Pound Ridge remains reasonable in price: The median sales price currently is $780,000, still below the Westchester town average.
