If you’re anything like me, whenever you have a free moment you can’t wait to peruse the latest issue of HGTV Magazine or check out a few design blogs. Even if I don’t have a home project happening at that moment, I love gathering inspiration for future projects or just seeing what others are doing in their own homes.
You don’t have to love the color turquoise to appreciate this blog (but it does help). I like the color sparingly, but what I love about this blog is the amount of ideas whether it’s around one color or not, they’re great.
Lonny is the answer to tech and design geeks alike. It is an online shelter magazine with news, ideas, and tons of inspiring photos. Although I love to sit down with an actual magazine as often as I can, I do love this site because of the plethora of information and ideas. It’s fresh, cool, and my answer to what Domino magazine used to be when it first launched or Blueprint, but online.
This is a great site if you are short on time and want to search a lot of different styles and bloggers in one place. I think of it as the kayak of interior design sites because it features content from outside bloggers and writers and puts it all in one place. You can search by style, by name, or by room. Bonus, if you see what you like, you can actually hire one of the Nous Décor designers to work on the project for you right there!
This is an oldy but a goodie and over the years they have expanded to include food and drink, travel, and more, but I still have a fondness in my heart for the interiors they feature. You can find all different styles on the site, however, most are eclectic.
They may not post as much as they used to, but there are still nearly 3,000 projects and posts to peruse and inspire your next home project. Three houses, two kids, and two books later, this couple knows a thing or two about living a stylish life with a young family something I can relate to.
This is another oldy or goodie that has also expanded into other areas outside of design, but my personal favorite on this site are the DIY projects. I also really love their designer and stylists sections, which offers up not only great tips from popular and up-and-coming designers, but it also has beautiful for endless inspiration.
I have been following Coco + Kelley for a long time and continue to love it to this day. Their room of the week is great and I love that all of their interiors are organized by room, because that’s how homeowners really decorate.
Recently, Decor Happy featured a one room design challenge and it was everything. It was a teen girl’s bedroom, but it had great tips for everyone. I absolutely loved seeing the transformation from what it was to what it could be. Aside from that, designer Vanessa Francis also offers up tips from fellow designers, styling tips from her own home, and more. There is definitely something to make everyone happy!
I would use one word to describe this site: sophisticated. You immediately feel like a grownup when you are looking at the inspirational photos and projects on Habitually Chic. The writers pull inspiration from all sorts of place including the red carpet and they’re all the better for it.
Decorist has everything you need from simple tip to create a refresh for less to tips from India Hicks on how to style a bar cart (something every outdoor space needs this summer). We love the photos and practical tips from all different sources. You can also hire one of their designers to work on your own project if you feel so inclined.
I also love a great site that offers tools to help me with any projects I’m working on. That’s where sites like floorplanner.com and apps like Color Snap and Like That Décor and Furniture come in.
Floor Planner let’s you do exactly what you would think, enter measurements and create floor plans of every room in your home.
Color Snap is for the color-aholics out there like me. When you see a color out in the real world and you want to find a paint color that matches it exactly. This app let’s you do just that! Just snap a photo of anything (really anything) and it will match a paint color to that exact color then you can go to your nearest paint store and purchase it to use on whatever project you desire.
Like That Décor and Furniture lets you snap photos of your favorite finds no matter where you at and save them to purchase at a later date. It also let’s you search and purchase from favorite stores right in the app (think Serena & Lily, Restoration Hardware, and Etsy to name a few.
