Kyra Schulhof (above) knows a thing or two about design and rugs. The founder and creative director of Greenwich-based Fayette Studio, Schulhof has more than 20 years’ experience in the interior-design industry. The Scarsdale resident is detail-oriented, has an eye for good design, and has a fabulous collection of luxury rugs and carpets at her studio.
In addition to the custom-designed rugs featured from across the globe, Fayette Studio just launched a collaboration with Miami-based Art + Loom. As seen in The New York Times, The Wall Street Journal, and Metropolitan Home, Art + Loom creates one-of-a-kind rug designs, based on the size, shape, and color preferences of each of its clients. The capsule collection featured at Fayette Studio includes four hand-knotted rug designs: Vibration, Watercolor Dot, Drifting Wings, and Etchings.
“We wanted to tap into the idea of a bohemian art studio where every medium of fine art could be interpreted and displayed on the floor,” explains Art + Loom founder Samantha Gallacher. “All drawn lines feel organic, and the stroke of a paint brush creates movement and style.”
“Samantha and I share an incredible passion for making exquisite handcrafted rugs and a commitment to our customers that comes before any competition that may exist between us,” says Schulhof. “We quickly became valuable resources for each other, realizing that a collaboration would yield beautiful rugs comprising our combined knowledge of quality material, techniques, and the best craftsmanship that the global rug industry has to offer.”
