Cabbonet Floating Island, Price Available Upon Request, Cabbonet, Mamaroneck (above)

“Six-foot-wide single drawers crafted from solid walnut float within a tapered stone frame incorporating our custom stone sink, reminiscent of the practical and durable stone sinks made for centuries across Europe. The Cabbonet Floating Island is a show-stopping piece for a kitchen, bar, credenza or outdoor living that represents Cabbonet in its purest form in the way it combines unique materials, precision engineering, and functionality.”

“Regardless of whether it’s a classic or more contemporary kitchen, having a full slab of stone, a continuation of the countertop, is clean, elegant, and seamless (and easy to clean). For so long people were drawn to subway or herringbone tiles, beautiful patterns, smaller, intricate tiles—and while I think the beauty of that will stand the test of time, right now [I am] very much drawn to the full slab trend. Especially because it doesn’t take away from the beauty of the surrounding cabinetry. And at the same time, if it’s a classic white kitchen it can add a pop of color to the space. As for banquettes: Everyone right now wants one if it can fit. And on the flip side, if a space is too small for a kitchen table or island seating, a banquette can be the perfect solution for an eat-in kitchen. In this specific kitchen we had a custom-made circular base.”

Kohler Real Rain Overhead Shower Panel, $2,145, Best Plumbing Tile & Stone, Scarsdale and Somers

“Out of all the available shower heads and components, the one that I absolutely adore is the Kohler Real Rain. The panel measures nearly 20-inches square, and it’s designed to create different-sized droplets of water that create a feeling of a rain shower on a summer day; it also includes a feature where you press a wall-mounted button, and it empties a reservoir of water all at once. It’s not only effective as a shower head, but it’s a true spa-like feature that is unlike anything else out there. I installed one in my own shower and have the privilege of enjoying this unique experience every day.”

“My favorite type of tile this year has been three-dimensional or fluted porcelain tile for walls. I particularly love this look when it is done in warm natural colors and/or earthy finishes such as wood, stone, and even pottery. Elegant simplicity is the feeling created here. It is also a great way to introduce a decorative element to the bathroom without necessarily having to bring in another color or element.”
