Wolf Conservation Center Foundation House Tour

Step through some of Westchester’s most elegant and green homes at the third annual “Green Homes & Great Estates” House Tour benefiting the Wolf Conservation Center Foundation on Sunday, September 30, from 10 am to 3 pm. This year’s line-up of exceptional homes includes the 1842 former John June Italianate Colonial mansion, a sprawling and historic North Salem family estate, a 19th century Katonah home retrofitted as a model of green living, a working Northern Westchester horse farm with spectacular barn, and a return visit to a green Octagon House on Lake Truesdale now with tiered gardens. The tour begins with a check-in between 9:30 am and 10:30 am at the “Camp Runamuk” 68-acre South Salem estate, followed by the self-guided house tours. A gourmet lunch is included in the $100 ticket price. Affordable Art Fair

Not only does the Affordable Art Fair offer an opportunity to admire some pretty fantastic artwork, you can take it home, too—for a price, of course. The art happening at The Tunnel, (11th Ave at 28th St, Manhattan) features more than 60 galleries from around the world with original artwork priced from $100 to $10,000 (with more than half priced at under $5,000) and in a variety of mediums, including paintings, photography, video installations, and sculpture. Highlighting work of young emerging artists and established pros, the event kicks off with a private VIP preview on Thursday, October 4, from 6 pm to 9 pm, before opening to the public on Friday, October 5 (noon to 8 pm), Saturday, October 6, (11 am to 8 pm), and Sunday, October 7 (11 am to 6 pm). Autumn Art & Purchase Award Show
The annual Autumn Art & Purchase Award Show, sponsored by the Art Society of Old Greenwich, runs from Wednesday, October 3, through Friday, October 26 at the Garden Education Center (130 Bible St, Cos Cob, Connecticut), along with a special reception at the center on Thursday, October 4, from 6 pm to 8 pm. The artwork on display and for sale covers a range of styles and mediums, including oil, acrylics, watercolor, photography, graphics, pastel, and sculpture. Each year the Art Society of Old Greenwich gives a local nonprofit organization the chance to choose an artwork from this exhibit to hang permanently at their facility. This year’s recipient is Abilis, a Greenwich-based nonprofit agency that provides lifelong services to help children and adults with developmental disabilities.
