Jilco Window Corp. reflects on 40 years of experience and success in the home sector throughout Westchester County.
In the face of an NYC-exodus due to COVID-19, the search for more land and privacy continues, with the county experiencing soaring home prices and a red-hot market. New buyers are remodeling big-time, and those with no plans to leave the nest are renovating, inspired by more time at home over the past couple of years.
Family-owned-and-operated Jilco Window Corp. has been a key resource for window, door, skylight, millwork, and kitchen-cabinetry supplies since its inception. Now 40 years old, the company remains a local go-to for those looking to refresh their homes.
The Granite Springs-based business offers customized services to builders, remodelers, architects, and homeowners, for solutions applicable to both new-home construction and remodeling. “Building a house, renovating a kitchen… these are all stressful projects, and many homeowners are not prepared for the hundreds of decisions they will be required to make. Our staff is patient, knowledgeable, and trained to assist in these complicated projects,” says sales manager Dan Hughes.
The company’s offerings have expanded, adding energy-efficient replacement window and door options, and selling and installing blinds and shades by Hunter Douglas. There have also been various changes in the industry over the last four decades — namely, technological advances, like the internet (“Homeowners now have the ability to research the products they want to use in their projects extensively, prior to the project even being designed,” Hughes says), but what has been consistent is the company’s staff.
“Our sales team has a long tenure, and their experience is invaluable. They receive extensive training from our manufacturer partners and have seen it all in terms of windows, doors, and cabinetry,” he says. “Success or failure of any project still comes down to listening to customers, explaining their options, and providing what they want and need at a competitive price. Jilco has been doing that for 40 years, and we will be doing that for the next 40 years and beyond.”
