Annual Frank Lloyd Wright Usonia Tour
Architects and architecture enthusiasts alike will relish this opportunity to get an up-close and personal view of Usonia and the distinctive homes designed by legendary architect Frank Lloyd Wright. The guided tour, sponsored by the Westchester Hudson Valley Chapter of the American Institute of Architects (AIAWHV), runs from 9 am and 12:30 pm on Saturday, October 22, and includes insightful comments from tour leaders George Waterbury of the Mount Pleasant Historical Society and original resident and former Frank Lloyd Wright client, Roland Reisley. Experts on Frank Lloyd Wright architecture, Waterbury, author of Mount Pleasant and Reisley, who wrote Usonia, New York: Building a Community with Frank Lloyd Wright, will share their personal insights and respond to questions throughout the tour, which steps off from the Mount Pleasant Historical Society at One Town Hall Plaza in Valhalla. Architectural Bike Tour
The AIAWHV-sponsored architectural exploration continues on bike on Sunday, October 23 (rain date October 30), for either a 25-mile or 40-mile bicycle tour on scenic, winding Westchester roads with short stops at local architectural landmarks. Participants choose their routes based on ability level: 25 miles with 900 feet elevation rise or 40 miles with 1,600 feet elevation rise. The tour launches from the Chappaqua Train Station, 108 Allen Pl, and runs from 9 am to 2 pm with a stop to purchase snacks halfway through. 18th Annual Westchester Fine Craft Show
