What was a go-to for designers and homeowners alike, Nest Inspired Home is no more — veteran design guru and owner Bets Miller has pivoted and opened a new space with a new partner, Michelle Sriubas, just down the street.
Finch & Co. opened two locations in late September — one in Rye and one in Bluffton, SC — and brings all the tried-and-true design trends and classics that Nest was known for but in a new package. It is fresh and modern with lots of eye candy. There are furnishings that can be customized, smaller accessories that make the perfect accent in any room, or gifts for the consummate hostess, and adorable items for kids.
“[Michelle] and I have been family friends for over 20 years and the partnership grew over dinner discussing how she wanted to open a design studio and retail location in Bluffton similar to Nest,” says Miller. “With Nest ending as my long-time business partner, Aly Drew, was retiring, we decided to join forces and open two new stores and an online store between both locations.”
The yellow finch is considered a good luck bird in Native American culture (Miller is a member of the Chickasaw Nation) and the name for the shop was born.
The team behind Finch & Co. worked together to create a highly curated store with vendors they both love, as well as private-label upholstery, plus design services. Vendors include LEE Industries, CR Laine, OLY, Mr Brown, Arteriors, Made Goods, Visual Comfort, and more. “We also sourced great new lines and vintage finds that we hadn’t seen in other Westchester or South Carolina stores to infuse new accessories and décor into the market at accessible prices,” says Miller. And they have design projects happening in South Carolina, Florida, New York, Montana, the Hamptons, Greenwich, and Nantucket.
“We love to work with clients to create a home they love, melding their own look and pieces with finishing touches they might not have thought of, elevating their aesthetic within a range of price points,” she says.
