Design Awards: Some Bathrooms You Didn’t See

Hundreds were not introduced at the Design Awards but here are a few noteworthy entries.

Earlier this month we held our annual Design Awards event at the Emelin Theatre. There we introduced all of the finalists in 10 categories to an audience of over 180 people and crowned 10 winners.

It was a great evening, but there were hundreds of other entries that didn’t get introduced on that stage that evening and so many of them are amazing!

I wish we could feature them all, but we just don’t have the space! However, I would like to shed light on some of the entries because we had so many beautiful ones. We will of course be featuring more in the upcoming issues of Westchester Home, but in the meantime, here are two of the beautiful bathrooms entered in the Design Awards.

The first bathroom, a mid-century modern bathroom renovation in Purchase, is from designer Brittany Zachos of the Zachos Design Group, Inc. The bathroom was completely gutted from its 1970s vibe allowing the designer to create a simplistic and functional design.

The second bathroom was entered by Austin Patterson Disston Architects. These his and her separate baths are joined by a shower. Ooh la la! The interior skylight with soft lights gives the room warmth all year round and is a spectacular feature.
