These simple steps will get you on the right track this spring as you start to clean out the junk and build a more streamlined life.
It’s that time of year again – spring cleaning is upon us! And to help us get ready we’ve got some great tips from Roadway Moving of NYC.
Hire Help: Don’t be afraid to hire a company to come in and help you tackle your spring cleaning. It’s important to have someone who will pay extra attention to detail, and offer a high level of care, service, and handling that can be completely trusted.
Out With The Old:Â When switching out your summer wardrobe for your winter wardrobe (and vice versa) take some extra time to go through each item and see if you should still keep it. Save yourself the extra clutter and rid your closet of anything you haven’t worn. There are even services such as Roadway, that will haul your unwanted items to Salvation Army or other donation centers.
Consolidation:Â When cleaning and unpacking your seasonal items, be sure not to get your everyday items mixed in the middle. For example, items such as phone/laptop chargers and remotes are everyday necessities that you don’t want to be packed away until next year. Try keeping all of these items in some sort of container with a label so you always know where to find them.
Keep Track of Inventory:Â Along with keeping your closet organized and up-to-date, it’s important to keep the rest of your house decluttered as well. Go through your kitchen cabinets and see how many duplicates you have, whether it be five spatulas or three measuring cups, you can most likely eliminate at least one of each. When storing goods, have the movers create an inventory of all items and content that will be in the storage unit so you can keep track of them without having to go to the storage unit and shuffle through everything.
Use See Through Bins:Â This can apply for any part of your home. Whether for your storage in the basement or in your kitchen. Being able to see what’s inside will save you time and frustration when moving your belongings around at the change of season. Add labels inside the bins so you can easily read what is inside each bin.
