Luckily, there are two options for making this five-bedroom contemporary Edgemont ranch your home—rent or buy. “It’s truly an unexpected jewel in Edgemont,” says listing agent Caren Manne. “The open and spacious floor plan offers ideal living space, which is perfect for indoor and outdoor entertaining. The one-half acre of park-like grounds includes a lush lawn, heated pool, hot tub, waterfall, deck, and patio.” The stand-out features continue inside with vaulted ceilings, a sleek and airy gourmet kitchen, a spacious lower-level family/game room, and recently updated four full bathrooms and refinished hardwood floors. Though the five bedrooms are split with three on the lower level and two on the upper level, the layout makes room for plenty of storage, including two walk-in master bedroom closets and a dressing room. Hurricane Sandy Aftermath: Response of Home Industry Continues

Following Hurricane Sandy, help from the home industry for those in need continues. The latest: In response to Sandy’s devastation, three local professional stagers are teaming up to give back in the way they know best—through their talents and services. Thanks to their creativity and unique “Will Work for Food” program, you can spruce up your home space or prepare it to sell while also directly contributing to hurricane recovery. From now to November 30, these home stages (certified by the Accredited Staging Professionals) are waiving their fees on a limited number of one-hour consults in exchange for an immediate $100 donation to the American Red Cross. The program works in three easy steps:

  • Using the links below, review each stager’s specialties to choose your preferred professional and service.
  • Contact that stager as soon as possible to set up your appointment by November 30.  (Appointments will be filled on a first-come, first-served basis.)
  • At the end of your consult, donate a check made out to the American Red Cross for a minimum of $100, which will then be mailed in an official Red Cross pre-addressed envelope.

Furniture Sharehouse: The organization also is still accepting monetary and furniture donations to help Westchester families whose homes have been destroyed or flooded in the hurricane. And, with one day to go, there’s still time to cast your vote to help Furniture Sharehouse win a $25,000 grant before daily voting ends Wednesday, November 21. Winning the grant would enable Furniture Sharehouse to help more than 80 families in need. Furniture Sharehouse founder Kate Bialo is one of ten women recognized for their efforts in serving their communities and selected as a 2012 Woman of Worth. In an online contest sponsored by L’Oréal Paris, if Bialo receives the most daily online votes by November 21, the $25,000 grant would be presented to Furniture Sharehouse. To vote for Bialo and Furniture Sharehouse funds, go to http://www.womenofworth.com/honorees/honoreesdetail.aspx?id=Kate_Bialo&yr=2012&. For more information about Furniture Sharehouse and details on donating, visit www.furnituresharehouse.org.
