Larchmont just upped its art cred with the opening of Atelier Modern, a striking new art gallery and home decor shop in Westchester.
Collectors and interior design buffs take note: A striking new gallery and home decor shop has opened in Larchmont. Atelier Modern (2091 Boston Post Road) boasts a curated selection of fine art — from both historic icons and talented local creators — and an elegant collection of decor and accessories. Sisters and practicing attorneys Ana Zampino O’Neill and Sarah Bauer debuted the location in March after having renovated the former lighting store. The roughly 1,750-square-foot shop is a bright, airy space with plenty of natural light to highlight the modern art and decor interspersed throughout.
Bauer, a village trustee and deputy mayor of Larchmont, shares: “We are a store where you can find lots of different things to make your home beautiful.” O’Neill, whose professional background includes a stint at Christie’s, curated the fine art from masters like Koons, Picasso, Matisse, and Warhol; local artist Elissa Carroll curated the selection from Westchester-based creators. Home goods include practical art, like Mariposa table trays, tic-tac-toe sets in grasscloth, and alabaster bowls; Lily Juliet pitchers; and Malibu Luxxe blankets. It’s a fresh space to appreciate functional and fine art, and to celebrate local and renowned creators.
