According to The Fashion Spot, there are quite a few fashion trends that emerged out of the fall 2017 runway shoes during Fashion Week in NYC including velvet, denim, browns, and lots of patterns.
Here are some trends that we found on the runways that will translate right into the runways of your home (or bedroom, or living space, etc.).
Denim
Whether it is a throw pillow here, or a woven rug with denim — yes, denim — this is an All-American touch you can add to any casual living space. There is even denim bedding and upholstery fabric for sofas inspired by this jean material. Rough and rugged like the material itself, it ages better over time.
Nautica Seward Duvet Cover in Denim Blue, $100-$160
Velvet
Velvet is one of those fabrics that comes into style and goes out of style just like bellbottoms. Right now you can find velvet everywhere including in full on drapes, which are luxurious in look and feel. Although long, velvety drapes may not be your style, there are other ways to incorporate this trend into your décor. We love using velvet trim on pillows or curtains. It adds a bit of luxury without the high price tag or the high end feel from floor to ceiling.
Swiss Velvet Ribbon, $1.98 per yard
Feminine Silhouettes
No design has ever hurt from having a feminine touch, that’s why we love this trend just as much on the runways as we do in homes. A feminine silhouette can be found in a great print, a piece of furniture, or molding. We can see these feminine Josephine chairs flanking something more masculine or singing all on their own in a bedroom sitting area or home office.
Josephine Chaire, $1,050-$1,495
Prints
Prints can be found in everything for the home from pillows, to curtains, to rugs, bedding, textiles, and more. How loud you want the print to scream is a personal preference, but just look in any home shop or online at any collection of décor and you will see the patterns are endless, just like those found on the models this past Fashion Week.
