Rye Brook Designer Lara Michelle's "Swing of Things"

“I designed this playroom/living space above the client’s three-car garage for two girls, ages 9 and 11,” says Rye Brook designer Lara Michelle. After a total gut renovation, Michelle put down new wide-planked hardwood flooring, custom window seats and bookcases, and a half-wall to separate the long space into two spaces—one for play and art projects, the other a cozy TV area with a shaggy rug and custom faux-fur floor pillows for ultimate lounging. “The clients say it’s their favorite room in the house now, and Stanley, their quite photogenic pug, agrees!”
