The Top Winery Events You and the Crew Need to Hit This Summer

Summertime, and the livin’ is easy. Hudson Valley wineries have become a staple in Westchester living, and we are excited for this year’s lineup of music, food, events, and of course, wine. Keep reading for a selection of events hosted at New York’s finest wineries, where you can sip and savor the flavors of summer.

If that’s not enough, keep a close eye on our own upcoming Wine & Food Festival this June 4-9, during which our first-ever Food Truck Festival is set to raise the bar for what a Friday night should look like in Westchester.

For rock music fans, head to Warwick Valley Winery & Distillery on July 7th. The ‘Watkins Glen Revisited’ festival is a day dedicated to the 1973 Summer Jam at Watkins Glen,  featuring the music of The Allman Brothers, The Band, and the Grateful Dead. Enjoy live music 12pm-5pm for only $15.

 

Craving more Grateful Dead? Head to Torne Valley Vineyards on July 13th and 14h for their 5th Annual “We Can Share The Wine” Two-Day Music Festival, a Grateful Dead tribute from 11am to 6pm, $20.

For animal lovers, head to Whitecliff Vineyard & Winery on June 29th for the Woodstock Farm Sanctuary benefit, ‘Veggies and Vino!’. Whitecliff is teaming up with Powered by Plants Consulting to help fund care for over 380 farmed animals that are victims of cruelty and neglect, giving them lifelong love and care. Tickets are $30 and include small plate tapas dishes and wine and proceeds go to Woodstock Farm Sanctuary.

 

Calling all Sangria fans. Head to Robibero Family Vineyards on July 6th and 7th for the 8th annual Sangria Festival. For $25, you’ll sample 4 different sangrias, 4 wines, and take home your own Robibero logo wine glass. You’ll also be entered in a raffle to win three bottles of wine (sign us up). Live music will occur on both Saturday and Sunday, and you’ll have your choice of Empanada Mania or wood-fired pizza on site.

Lobster lovers, rejoice. Enjoy Millbrook Vineyard & Winery on June 22nd for their 2019 Summer Solstice Lobster Bake. Celebrate the longest day of the year with wine, hors d’oeuvres in the loft with live jazz music and beautiful views. Later on, dine in the vineyard among Millbrook’s Block Two East Cabernet Franc vines, while enjoying a delicious Lobster Bake and a selection of their top Millbrook wines. Tickets are now available for $135.

 

Sip & paint the summer away at Baldwin Vineyards. Saturday, June 22nd the winery will offer a sip & paint session for $35, including one drink of choice and all the supplies needed to create a beautiful piece of artwork.

 

Looking for an event to bring your fellow beer-lover to? Brotherhood, America’s Oldest Winery will host their annual Wine & Beer Festival on July 13th. The event will feature Brotherhood’s collection of wines along with local and regional craft breweries including Ballast Point Brewing Company, Brooklyn Brewery, Captain Lawrence, Coney Island, Ithaca Beer Company, Keegan Ales, Magic Hat, Newburgh Brewing Company, New Belgium, Oyster Bay, Saranac, Shiner, Shipyard, Sly Fox, and Two Roads. $60 ticket will include 5 hours of wine, beer, and barbeque.

 

Palaia Winery will host two festivals this summer. On June 15th, join the winery for Palaia’s 5th annual Celtic Fest with the AOH of Orange County. Enjoy wine and beer all day along with Irish and American food. Admission is only $10 for 6 hours of Irish fun.Head back to the winery on July 13th for The Beatles Festival. This event, too only $10, benefits the Woodbury Police PBA Charities. Kid-friendly, the event will include a bounce house and wagon rides, with wine, beer, and cider for mom and dad.
