Prepare for an appetizing and educational experience during our Perfect Pairings of Wine & Food with Kevin Zraly, the premiere event in Westchester Magazine’s Wine & Food Festival. On Tuesday, June 4, wine expert Zraly and John Crabtree are taking attendees on a trip to Europe and the West Coast, all from the comfort of a Chappaqua’s Crabtree Kittle House Restaurant & Inn.
Zraly’s name may sound familiar, and for good reason. Between 1976 and 2001, the Hudson Valley resident held the position of wine director for the illustrious Windows on the World Restaurant atop the World Trade Center. To date, the renowned author and educator has sold more than three million copies of his written guide, titled Windows on the World Complete Wine Course.
With eight books and 50 years of teaching under his belt, Zraly has established himself as one of the world’s premier wine educators. He shares his passion through online classes at his Wine School, which accommodates everyone from the casual drinker to the expert collector. During the event, Zraly will hold condensed seminars with samples of fine wines that highlight different regions of the world.
Surely everyone appreciates a sip of pinot noir, but what is a Westchester Magazine Wine & Food Festival without any food? That’s where Crabtree’s Kittle House Restaurant’s Executive Chef Danilo Recinos comes into the mix. His elevated farm-to-table menu featuring ingredients from local farms will be served in the grand dining room. Diners can expect to savor an array of hors d’oeuvres to go alongside standout vino picks from California, France, and Portugal. The restaurant and venue are sure to provide a gorgeous backdrop for the evening, with views of the lush grounds and distant hills.
Located within a cozy, welcoming retreat down a quiet road in Chappaqua, Crabtree’s Kittle House Restaurant & Inn is a unique estate. Once you step foot onto the property you’re immediately transported back into its rich past. This restaurant is the ideal location for an elevated wine tasting evening.
