New restaurants tend to soak up all the attention and glory. Yet, it can be argued that those that endure are actually more noteworthy: after all, many restaurants close within their first year of business. That’s why we decided to honor those rare county spots that have stood the test of time—perennial favorites we visit again and again. Of course, with more than 2,000 restaurants in the county, selecting just nine proved particularly daunting. That’s why we included a few extras.
