Rye House

Port Chester’s newest gastropub—modeled after its Union Square sister—offers a slew of whiskeys, artisanal cocktails, and craft beer. Look for a four-course meal complete with a truffle popcorn amuse bouche, a choice of four appetizers, and an entrée selection that includes buttermilk fried chicken and veggie pasta with mustard greens and walnut pesto.

One Twenty One

If you and your Valentine are looking for modern cuisine in an elegant country setting, head to One Twenty One in North Salem. Executive Chef Beck Bolender is cooking up a three-course menu that will have your mouth watering with dishes like house-made crab ravioli, Colorado lamb chops, soy-glazed short ribs, and more.

Thyme

Executive Chef Tom Costello is proffering a three-course meal for couples on Friday and Saturday. Dishes include Meyer Ranch rib eye, stuffed sole, and pan-seared salmon. For good measure, Costello is throwing in a complementary glass of Champagne and a chocolate rose for the lady. Reservations are recommended.

Bistro V

What’s more romantic than a traditional French restaurant on Valentine’s Day? Escape to Bistro V in Greenwich for a three-course holiday special. Start with a warm goat cheese salad or a wild shrimp cocktail; move on to mains like fettuccine with chanterelle mushrooms, duck a l’orange, or Maryland crab-stuffed sole; and finish with warm chocolate and nougatine cake with raspberry sorbet.

La Panetière

Best of Westchester-winning La Panetière has a six-course prix fixe dinner menu, with a choice of veal or beef for the main course. Other courses? Black-truffle tagliatelle, a jumbo crabmeat lump, and minestrone.

Le Château 

Featuring classic French cuisine prepared by Chef André Molle, Le Château is offering a three-course Valentine’s dinner from 4 to 9:30 pm. Choose from a selection of five appetizers and five entrées; mains include stuffed pheasant, salmon tournedos, and ahi tuna.

Morton’s The Steakhouse

Look for two specials on Valentine’s Day—a steak and lobster stand-alone entrée, and a special three-course meal (salad, a six-ounce filet with a choice of crab cakes, scallops, or shrimp alexander, and your choice of hot chocolate cake, key lime pie, or crème brûlée).

Blue Hill At Stone Barns

Blue Hill is the county’s premier farm-to-table restaurant. The Valentine’s menu will source ingredients, as always, from the Stone Barns Center for Food and Agriculture (they occupy the same grounds). You’ll pay dearly, but it’s guaranteed to be a memorable evening. Seating begins at 1 pm.

Crabtree’s Kittle House

This year, Crabtree’s Kittle House is featuring a “Sweetheart” package deal for the month of February (excluding Valentines Day) which includes a combination of an overnight stay at their Old-World-style bed and breakfast and a special menu. On the 14th there will be an exclusive four-course prix fixe Valentine’s dinner. Crabtree’s was voted Reader’s Choice in July and August 2008, and follows a philosophy of “remembering the past and thinking about the future,” which reflects in their blending of American classics and new culinary trends.

Dolphin Restaurant

Whether it’s your first Valentine’s Day or an anniversary, Dolphin will have a team of professional photographers to capture your romantic moments this year along with roses for every lady. At its Yonkers waterfront location, Dolphin is modeled after a New England coastal restaurant with seafood from all over the world. The restaurant was featured as one of our eight favorite Valentine’s Day dinner options last year.

42 The Restaurant

The restaurant at the Ritz-Carlton, 42 is a failsafe romantic destination for this year, with fare from Portugal and the Mediterranean and beautiful, spacious dining rooms.

Red Hat On The River

This Irvington eatery is starting Valentine’s Day dinner early this year; their sunset seating begins at 4pm. With a dessert sampling as a sweet ending to their three-course meal, this waterfront bistro, also featured last year as one of our favorite Valentine’s dinner locations, has French-American fare as well as live jazz year-round.

Il Castello

​The Mamaroneck establishment will be offering a special Valentine’s Day menu featuring the best of their Northern Italian fare: dishes like tuna tartare, porterhouse steak, and oysters on the half shell. They have roses for the ladies and emphasize Italian hospitality; Hudson Valley Magazine and the New York Times have recognized the restaurant’s exceptional service.

Castle Hotel & Spa

Valentine’s does fall on a Saturday this year, so here’s your option for an overnight, close-to-home romantic escape. The hotel will personalize your stay with couple’s activities like a private helicopter ride, a massage at the THANN Sanctuary Spa, and/or a dinner at Equus (the on-site restaurant rated “excellent” by the New York Times).
