Alvin & Friends is known for its Southern and Caribbean cuisine, so it makes sense that they offer dishes like “Shrimp and Grits” ($18) as well as “Creole Dry Rub Steak and Eggs” ($13.95) on their brunch menu. Don’t worry if you’re not up for these rather eccentric items come Sunday morning, though; they still feature classics like Buttermilk Pancakes ($7.95) and Bananas Foster French Toast ($8.95). You won’t regret coming by for the enjoyable ambiance and top-notch cooking.

To celebrate any special occasion or just to cap off an enjoyable weekend, The Arch is a fantastic choice for brunch. Granted it may be just outside Westchester in Putnam County, and costly for a Sunday afternoon meal ($42 for complete brunch), but dishes like the Maryland crab and lobster cake and hazelnut crème brulee are too good not to try. Zagat describes this fine dining experience as “sophistication in a country setting.”
