These Westchester Movie Theaters Serve Next-Level Snacks

This week’s forecast is rainy with popcorn, wings, and beer.

Summer blockbusters are nothing without the perfect snack. These Westchester theaters offer perfect bites to accompany movies, from the classics to elevated cuisine.

Alamo Drafthouse

Yonkers

It’s right there in the name: This Yonkers theater specializes in craft brews with more than 25 on-tap selections representing mostly New York brewries (SingleCut, Industrial Arts, Rushing Duck, Gun Hill, and more). To go with those pints, Alamo rolls out menus of movie-themed dishes. Check out the latest blockbuster sequel like Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom and let the theater pair the pic with current specials, including dino-themed Pterodactyl Wings (apple-cider glaze and fried-onion topping) that give the classic a theatrical fare. The best part? The staff will gladly duck and dive through the aisles to bring you anything off the menu, so you’ll never miss a minute of the flick.

The Picture House

Pelham

For all of those traditionalist out there The Picture House is the place to go for perfected popcorn. As any true popcorn enthusiast would, they use only real butter and pay special attention to sourcing their kernels. Decision making at the concessions counter doesn’t have to be your forte: The aptly named “treasure” option mixes M&M’s right into the buttery popcorn for the best of both sweet and savory snacks.

iPic is great for moviegoers who gravitate toward the finer things in life (like a bottle of Champagne with the latest flick). Well known for its luxurious reclining chairs, it really is a standout viewing experience. (Did we mention luxury seating also comes with free popcorn?) The theater is attached to City Perch, and the two menus share a focus on high-end American cuisine. Direct-to-your-seat service covers all the bases, from a variety of salads to a filet mignon sliders, truffle fries, and lobster rolls. The crown jewel of iPic snacking is the mac ’n’ cheese fries, crispy croquettes of creamy mac ’n’ cheese, complete with roasted-tomato-soup dipping sauce.

Jacob Burns Film Center

Pleasantville

One of Pleasantville’ gems is this film center that attracts arts cinema connoisseurs. The nonprofit also takes pride in sourcing snacks from the surrounding community, featuring baked goods from Pleasantville bakeries like Flour & Sun. We’ll skip the candy and let the scones and blondies satisfy any movie-related sweet-tooth cravings.
