Colony Grill is still new to a lot of Westchesterites, but chances are you already know about some of what Colony dishes out. Thin-crust bar-style pizza topped with hot oil (and hopefully sausage or pepperoni), stinger peppers, or even salad. But there are a couple pies here that get overlooked, and both are for breakfast.
Colony’s sausage-egg-and-cheese and bacon-egg-and-cheese pies go somehow unnoticed even though they’re on the menu. As a Connecticut native that grew up eating at Colony, I discovered these breakfasty, scrambled egg-, mozzarella-, and pork topped-treats only a year ago thanks to social media. I quickly found out none of my Colony fan friends knew about these weekend-only offerings either. No doubt they blinked and missed them on the menu just like I did.
Should you find yourself with a hankering for a breakfast sandwich (that’s what they taste like) on a Saturday or Sunday, switch it up and grab one of these. Chances are, you wanted pizza anyway. Oh, and do it between 11:30 a.m. and 3:30 p.m., otherwise you’re out of luck. The only thing left to do is to pair a Colony breakfast pie with the spicy, signature hot oil…
