The New (Delicious) Gluten-Free Beer Any Beer Drinker Should Try

Westchester has gluten-free bakeries (e.g., By the Way in Hastings) and restaurants with many gluten-free offerings (e.g., Thyme in Yorktown Heights), so why not something gluten-free to wash it all down with? Boathouse Beverage partners Dave Holmes, who grew up in Pleasantville (now of Rowayton, CT), and partner Nick Shields of Westport, CT, have introduced SpikedSeltzer, a 6% ABV beer (well, technically a beer, ignoring that pesky German Beer Purity Law) that does not contain barley, wheat, or sorghum. It’s made by cold-brewing a blend of natural sugars to dryness; the resulting crsip taste is between a vodka-soda with lime and Champagne. Flavors Indian River Grapefruit and Valencia Orange are in the works. Sold at Whole Foods Market and HMart, plus numerous package stores and gas stations.

For the wheat intolerant, beer-guzzling wordsmith: Under the SpikedSeltzer caps are quotes and sayings; you can submit a message by going here: http://spikedseltzer.com/caps/—you might see your brilliance in the next production cycle.
