The Green Growler: Craft Beers, Now With Sides

Owner Seana O’Callaghan steps up her game to bring Croton beer-lovers just what they ordered.

The Green Growler, Croton’s one-stop spot for craft brewing, has always known good beer. And now, they also know good food.

After running a craft beer market for three years, Seana O’Callaghan wanted more for her store. She wanted to create a center for beer enthusiasts; a place where they could eat, drink, and revel in the frothy ales they love so much. And after months of renovations, her hard work has paid off.

The Green Growler is now a unique home brew shop, bottle shop, and bar that offers more than just beer. Wines, cheese platters, pickle and olive platters, as well as weekly specialty platters are now offered. The menu will grow again in August when sandwiches, salads and seasonal specials are added.

But beer lovers shouldn’t worry. The Green Growler’s expansion has not jeopardized the specialty brews that first made its name. Favorites like ‘Long Trail Double Bag Ale’ and ‘Coney Island Mermaid Pilsner’ are still served and made even more delicious when paired with a platter.

O’Callaghan explains she decided to expand her menu to complement the selection of beer she offers. The salty sides can boost the taste of even the most flavorful brews, she said, making for an even more enjoyable meal.
