David DiBari’s other restaurants (The Cookery, The Parlor) are longtime HVRW best bets for their excellent menu selections. We’re hoping for the same from his playful, retro-diner-inspired Port Chester spot, where the motto is “Burgers, Shakes, Pancakes and Caviar.”

French-born chef-owner Josyane Colwell oversees every aspect of this tiny bistro, where the classic, rural French cuisine is some of the county’s best. On the HVRW menu: wild mushroom soup, pissaladière, poulet Provençal, and baked apples with honey, maple syrup, and cinnamon.

Located across from Empire City, this traditional Italian spot offers solid variety on its HVRW menu, including fried calamari; a grilled pork chop with potatoes, onions, and vinegar peppers; an 8-oz filet mignon; and house-made cannoli.

A slate of Austrian and French dishes make up the menu at Christian and Pamela Schienle’s restaurant in space that was previously Jennifer’s German Restaurant. On the HVRW menu: celery root, beet, and endive salad; pork jaegerschnitzel; beef goulash; and warm apple strudel.

At our top new restaurant, Chef-owner Brian Sernatinger manages to flawlessly execute dishes reflecting an eclectic mix of global cuisines.
