Eugene’s Diner & Bar

112 N Main St, Port Chester; 914.481.5529

David DiBari’s other restaurants (The Cookery, The Parlor) are longtime HVRW best bets for their excellent menu selections. We’re hoping for the same from his playful, retro-diner-inspired Port Chester spot, where the motto is “Burgers, Shakes, Pancakes and Caviar.”

Le Moulin Eatery & Wine Bar

French-born chef-owner Josyane Colwell oversees every aspect of this tiny bistro, where the classic, rural French cuisine is some of the county’s best. On the HVRW menu: wild mushroom soup, pissaladière, poulet Provençal, and baked apples with honey, maple syrup, and cinnamon.

Louie & Johnnie’s

887 Yonkers Ave, Yonkers; 914.423.3300

Located across from Empire City, this traditional Italian spot offers solid variety on its HVRW menu, including fried calamari; a grilled pork chop with potatoes, onions, and vinegar peppers; an 8-oz filet mignon; and house-made cannoli.

Nadine’s

715 Saw Mill River Rd, Yorktown Heights; 914.962.4298

A slate of Austrian and French dishes make up the menu at Christian and Pamela Schienle’s restaurant in space that was previously Jennifer’s German Restaurant. On the HVRW menu: celery root, beet, and endive salad; pork jaegerschnitzel; beef goulash; and warm apple strudel.

Nonna Carola

211 Mamaroneck Ave, Mamaroneck; 914.899.3130

The former Molly Spillane’s space got a stylish facelift to become this new Italian spot, serving gargantuan portions of refined Italian classics like sweet-tangy caponata, fritto misto, wild mushroom risotto, and a three-cheese chicken parm.

Vela Kitchen

14 Washington Ave, Pleasantville; 914.769.2980

Part of Pleasantville’s recent restaurant boom is this New American restaurant serving dishes like cauliflower fritters, grass-fed beef sliders, roasted candy cane beet salad, and pan-seared branzino.

Yard House

237 Market St, Yonkers; 914.375.9273

Yes, it’s a chain, but the lengthy craft beer list and creative bar food like Buffalo cauliflower, poke nachos, and riffs on street tacos make it worth a stop if you’re at Ridge Hill.

Wish you were full of tacos instead of emotions? We got you. 😉🌮
