Sweet Spot: Individual Seven-Layer Cake by Topps Bakery

Chocolate Fondant Icing
The cake is enrobed in an icing made of bittersweet chocolate, powdered sugar, and corn syrup.

Creamy Layers
Between each of the cake layers is chocolate buttercream—butter, sugar, shortening, and bittersweet chocolate.

Sweet History
Hungarian baker József C. Dobos invented the multi-layered cake, originally called a Dobosh Torte, in 1884. About 50 sell a week at Topps; twice as many are sold during the holidays.
